Keep reading!You will use your network engineering expertise to specify, design, implement, document, test, troubleshoot and deploy network and cyber security solutions; drive cyber security compliance to government and commercial requirements; diagnose and resolve complex live network problems, provide critical network architecture support, and maintain a variety of network communication protocols. Because networking is your passion, networking system commands in several platforms like Cisco, Juniper, and Linux are second nature, which allows you to easily help others in resolving operating system and networking issues. You will be directly involved in a diverse number of SATCOM communications programs and projects for US DoD customers as well as commercial applications. This fast-paced multi-tasking environment requires you to interact with a broad spectrum of program managers, hardware/software/project engineers and various internal support organizations on a regular basis. You may occasionally travel to participate in field work at customer sites internationally and domestically.The following are important attributes of the successful candidate:• Possesses a strong desire to learn new skills and be able to maintain an awareness of new vulnerabilities and security threats as they emerge.• Able to clearly explain, demonstrate, and document security issues at a level understandable by less security aware team members• Ability to understand the entirety of the threat landscape for a particular system and apply the right security technologies where they will be most effective. This includes external facing software and services as well as internal.• The ability to think like an attacker and use those skills to verify network security designs and implementations.Experience/Skills Required:• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or MIS• 3+ years in Information Security and 3-8 years working within Information Technology• 5+ years’ experience with Linux based server administration• Familiarity and interest in network security test tools and scanners ranging from nmap, Nessus/Qualys, to Metasploit• Advanced proficiency in the troubleshooting and tuning of the component hardware, software, networking and communications protocol problems• CCNP or CCIE Certification• Up to 25% domestic and international travel• US citizenshipPreferred:• Experience with Cisco Switch/Routers/ASA Firewalls in addition to hands-on experience in network design including Layer 2/3 design• Thorough understanding of routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP and network based ACL''s in addition to switching protocols such as 802.1D, 802.1Q, 802.1ad, QinQ, STP, MSTP• Penetration testing experience• Programming experience in ruby, python, or C• Demonstrable expertise in protocol standards such as IPv4, IPv6, Mobile IP, 802.11b/g, GRE, ARP, and IPSEC• Strong proficiency with network Monitoring protocols and tools such as SNMP, RMON, Wireshark, WinPcap, Cacti, Nfdump, and Nfsen. as well as with network management protocols and tools such as SNMP, LDAP and AAA• Practical experience in deployment and management of applied IT security technologies and tools such as two-factor authentication, enterprise PKI, email encryption, network
