<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Title: Infection Control NurseLocation: California-Central Valley-ModestoOther Locations:The Infection Control Nurse carries out the infection control duties of surveillance, education and consultation as assigned by the Director of Quality and Resource Utilization and the Infection Control Coordinator and abides by the Standards of Behavior for the organization.Serving the greater Stanislaus County with 423 plus acute care beds, Memorial Medical Center provides a full continuum of care including 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, physical therapy, and home health. Specialized care includes Memorial Regional Cancer Center and Memorial Heart Institute.Minimum Qualifications:* Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.* Two (2) years of experience in health care. * Two (2) years experience in Infection Control ORProgressive experience in nursing, Epidemiology, or public health. * Current State of California RN license. * Current Certification in Infection Control by the Certification Board of Infection Control ORobtains such certification within three (3) years of hire. * Knowledge of microbiology terminology. * Basic mathematical and data analysis skills (rate calculation, trend analysis, etc.). * Competent in the application and reading of skin tests. * Able to write legibly and effectively present ideas; document activities; read and interpret technical information.* Able to communicate (Read, write, hear, understand) clearly and effectively in English to the degree required to preform the job. * Capable of basic computer skills-data base management, word processing. * Must be able to travel in and out of Stanislaus County, at times on short notice. Travel may also include transcontinental air flights. Must be able to travel either alone or in a group. If Association and/or own vehicle used on Association business, must possess valid California Driver's license and proof of liability insurance. * Willingness to dress and act in a professional manner at all times. Preferred Qualifications: * Recent Infection control experience.* Bachelors degree in Nursingorrelated field. * Attendance at a CDC, State of California,orAPIC sponsored Infection Control Training Course.
