As a nursing professional, uses the nursing process to provide patient care. Participates with other facility team members to provide optimal patient care and efficient patient flow, taking into consideration the population specific needs for patients at all stages of life.Sutter Gould Medical Foundation (SGMF)is a non-profit, multi-specialty health care organization affiliated with Sutter Health. Based in Modesto, SGMF provides quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five-county area. SGMF''s medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, infertility counseling, and weight management.Must have a valid current license to practice nursing in the State of California. A Bachelor''s degree in nursing is preferred. Prefer experience working in a Pre-Operative and PACU supporting Endoscopy and surgery, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center. This level of experience is typically achieved in approximately three (3) years. Prefer 2 years experience in an Endoscopy center or operating room. Demonstrated knowledge and interpersonal skills necessary to tactfully interact with diverse health professionals, physicians and patients. Extensive knowledge of recommended Peri-Anesthesia standards/practices and infection control. Current knowledge regarding equipment utilized in the PACU. Significant Endoscopy scrub experience is preferred, preferably in an ambulatory surgery facility. The level of experience is typically obtained in approximately three or more years. Technical training to include aseptic technique and sterile processing is preferred. Extensive knowledge of instrumentation and equipment required for Endoscopy is preferred. Knowledge regarding sterile processing standards is preferred. An excellent understanding of infection control processes is required. Must have a working knowledge of applicable regulations and standards. Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communications, functional supervision/delegation and human relations is required. Must be a flexible, creative individual who is open to change along with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Requires the ability to operate and trouble-shoot PACU equipment. ACLS/PALS required. Computer skills are required. Adult training skills are preferred. Must exhibit desirable trunk and extremity mobility and strength to perform job duties. Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds safely. Must be able to push gurneys with patient up to 400 pounds (2 people pushing gurney). Push wheelchair up to 400 pounds. Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, reach overhead, and assist with physically transferring patients from gurneys to OR tables and wheelchairs and from wheelchairs to personal transportation. Must be able to see, hear, and speak English. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods. Must be able to wear a lead apron.
