POSITION REQUIREMENTS – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, JOB KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:· Deliver HR services that meet quality standards established by best practices, company policy and internal customers, in the areas of recruitment, employee and labor relations, employee separation, key performance metrics, performance management, training, development, onboarding, safety and legal compliance.· Act as advisor and provide technical expertise on HR issues to staff and senior level leaders within the region.· Partner with HR Leadership in the development and establishment of HR strategies to ensure the alignment with key business goals and overall organization strategies.· Manage an HR team to create a customer focused HR culture and to maximize organizational impact and efficiency .· Drive recruitment efforts to source, screen and recommend qualified candidates in support of the region’s business needs.· Resolve employee relations issues in a timely manner; provide coaching to all parties, and recommend appropriate actions. This includes interpreting and administering policies, conducting investigations and managing claims.· Analyze exit interviews so that potential problems are surfaced to the correct areas for action and problem avoidance.· Meet with union representatives to resolve issues.· Assist in developing appropriate job descriptions and making compensation recommendations for new positions and reorganizations.· Work with local management on employee performance issues and where necessary, prepare documentation for HR and legal review as required.· Oversight of leave administration including FML, ADA. Manage unemployment inquires.· Ensure compliance with all state laws and corporate policies/processes· Ensure employee records and files are kept in accordance with internal and external compliance.· Other duties as assigned.Education/Training:Requires BS in Business or HR related field.Job Knowledge/Experience:§ Requires5 to 8plus years progressively responsible HR Management and generalist experience§ Current working knowledge of employment law and regulations including FMLA,ADA, FLSA, EEO/AAP, Workers Compensation, unemployment and labor relations.§ Comfort speaking in front of groups and working with all levels of an organization§ Must demonstrate ability to lead by example and work as part of a team as well as individually with minimal direction§ Must demonstrate general project management skills and approach§ Experience in a union environment is critical.§ Experience and deep skills working with senior leaders, providing coaching & feedback, demonstrating courage in taking a stand and the ability to influence required.§ Comfort with ambiguity and creating something new, something that does not currently exist.License(s):SPHR or PHR certification or evidence of acquiring certification a plusLanguage/Writing/Communication Requirements:Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills appropriate for a corporate environmentHours/Breaks:Core hours will be established to maximize support of client groups across multiple time zones.This position will require regional
