<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Sr. Operations Finance Analyst (Sales)Tracking Code8801-1Job DescriptionWith 300 current stores and continued growth in new stores, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in forecasting revenue and managing P&L performance for these stores.  This individual will utilize his/her skills in performing practical and comprehensive data analysis and building/maintaining financial models to support action-oriented results. This includes forecasting, planning, tracking and analyzing various metrics used by the store operations team as well as taking the lead in various initiatives and projects to be assigned. The primary focus will be on store sales and P&L analysis, supporting field management with key performance metrics, and partnering with other departments (Real Estate, SPFA, Merchandise, Human Resources etc.) on ad-hoc analysis and reports. Required SkillsAnnual Forecasting and Quarterly Re-Forecasting:* Prepare annual and quarterly updates to retail sales forecasts for financial planning and goal setting purposes.* Coordinate with Regional Managers to adjust individual store goals in the forecasting model.* Review and adjust sales goals as necessary in special situations where forecasts vary widely from plan.* Update the sales forecast process and/or the financial model when deemed appropriate by management.* Analyze historical store controllable expenses (except store labor) and set top-down and bottoms-up target for the annual plan and update analysis for quarterly re-forecast.Store-by-Store Financial Performance Improvement:* Understand key drivers behind store profitability. Conduct regular analysis and reporting on P&L for assigned stores,  identify financially underperforming stores, link underperformance to operational KPI''s, develop turnaround options, drive toward action plan with appropriate management team, and publish progress reports that holds the appropriate management team to the action plan.Sales Planning, Analysis, and Reporting:* Prepare and distribute weekly retail sales reports with accompanying written analysis to senior management.* Maintain ownership responsibilities over retail sales reporting, analysis, and forecasting processes.  This includes partnering with other departments to establish consistent definition for various retail sales related metrics.* Manage the Store Events Database to track significant store events, and integrate event impact with sales forecast, goal setting, and performance evaluation processes.* Perform real estate related analysis such as store cannibalization, new store sales tracking and other environmental factors that impact sales.* Track performance of stores under strong competitive threat and compare their results to control stores.* Review weekly category sales report and communicate opportunities and risks in upcoming weeks.* Conduct ticket / basket analysis as needed to explain significant changes in retail sales.* Assist other departments with retail sales related needed such as impact analysis for new promotions, daily sales forecasting for cash management, etc.Utilities Management:* Partner with outside utilities bill review services to reduce overall utilities expenses and validate such savings.* Review store and warehouse level usage information from large utilities company regularly for unusual patterns, under-usages, and over-usages.* Follow-up stores and warehouses on best practices that resulted in under-usages, and root causes that led to over-usages.  Convert store-specific learning experience into company-wide improvement initiatives.* Coordinate with Construction, BPE, and A/P departments on any energy management related projects and validate results.Other Planning, Analysis, and Reporting:* Understand how spending should be captured in the accounting system (expense vs. capital) for certain initiatives (war plan, store pre-opening, maintenance), track such spending and provide monthly analysis and repo
