- Controller over Coachella, CA business unit and consolidating results for four other locations.
- Manage General Accounting, Cost Accounting, Payables, Billing, and Payroll functions and personnel.
- Strong leadership skills to oversee the accounting functions for the Coachella Business Unit, possess broad and effective abilities to lead and motivate the Finance Team, maintain reliable data, and to step into hands-on accounting duties when required.
- Strong experience with G/L activities and maintenance, able to independently reconcile and prove-out ending balances, and to establish policies and procedures for proper GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards CAS treatment of all transactions.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all accounting and reporting data for the Coachella unit, the reporting for the other Business Units as required, and consolidating results of all business units in the Platform and the detailed upload to Corporate.
- Oversee all internal/external audit activities for the domestic Platform and ensure the domestic internal control structure is maintained appropriately to include SOX Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial reporting to Corporate for the Platform monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages, monthly Flight Plan Reports FPR, Monthly Management Report MMR, monthly Finance Directors report FD report, policy 112 and 113 Certifications and reports, tax and insurance packages as well.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of month-end closings, SEC reporting, while improving the efficiency of these processes effectively diagnose and correct any inconsistencies in the results of processes.
- Leader in responding to internal and external audits, implementing required improvements/remediations.
- Respond effectively to on-going requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley Documenting processes, evaluating controls and implementing new measures.
- Serve as a senior Finance representative on Executive Business Team, making financial presentations on profitability, ROI, and suggested improvements.
- Continuous improvement of management information formats, particularly in quick, accurate, and effective interpretation and presentation of monthly results to Business Teams and senior management.
Qualifications
- This position will review and consolidate the information from all five sites and requires exceptional leadership abilities and excellent organizational skills.
- The candidate will have substantial GAAP knowledge, G/L skills, able to audit/reconcile all entries and balances when needed.
- Excellent communication written and oral and presentation skills required. Demonstrated proficiency in managing and motivating employees.
- Management experience with a diverse group in a matrix reporting environment over several locations.
- Expert-level Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Experience with publicly-traded companies as a finance or finance-related role to include SEC reporting requirements.
- Experience in public accounting preferred, to include audit experience.
- Solid understanding of SOX and required internal control environment for a publicly-traded company.
- Experience with a defense contractor or government agency to include FAR and CAS knowledge strongly preferred.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
- Bachelors degree or higher, Accounting major preferred. Special consideration for advanced degree.
- Five plus years of relevant experience.
