<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Job SummaryThis position is responsible to maintain, repair & troubleshoot machinery, equipment & systems in the plant ( e.g.- conveyors system, motors, pumps, production machinery).Essential Functions* Directs workers engaged in maintaining & repairing equipment including but not limited to such items as: motors, pumps, conveyors, fillers, case formers, case loaders, sealers, coders, palletizers & other packing & processing equipment* Requisition tools, equipment, & supplies* Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications & standards* Studies production schedules & estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments* Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules* Enforces safety regulations* Suggest changes in working conditions & use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew* Analyze & resolve work problems or assist workers in resolving work problems* Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments* Enter timely & accurate information into preventative maintenance computer program* Recommend parts to be kept in stock to be deleted from stockAdditional Functions* Perform other duties as assigned.* Comply with all safety policies, practices & procedures.* Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental & company goals.* Provide leadership to others through example & sharing of knowledge-skill.Qualifications* High school diploma or general education degree (GED)* Minimum of three to five years of experience in the repair& maintenance of filling & packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience* PLC programming & knowledge of ladder logic a plus* Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, & decimals* Ability to compute rate, ratio & percent & to interpret bar graphs* Ability to communicate effectively, written & verbally* Ability to read, analyze & interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures & governmental regulations* Ability to write reports & procedures manuals* Ability to effectively present information & respond to questions from groups of managers, clients & customers* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Typical Physical ActivityPhysical Demands:* Regularly work with moving mechanical parts* Frequently talk, hear, stand, walk* Frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions & have a risk of electric shock* Occasionally exposed to high precarious places, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals & vibrationsPhysical Requirements:* Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, distance vision, depth perception, focus adjustment* Must be able to lift & carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.* Manual dexterity sufficient to reach-handle items & work with the hands to finger, handle or feel.* Must be able to occasionally climb & balance, stoop & kneel, crouch & crawl.Typical Environmental Conditions* May be exposed to high noise levels in the production plant environmentDisclaimerMust perform the essential duties & responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation efficiently & accurately without causing significant safety threat to self or others.
