The QA Manager is responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that company objectives and quality standards are met during the procurement, production, and distribution of high acid, aseptic dietary supplement and food nutrition beverages. The QA Manager should place a significant emphasis on continuous improvement of functional and cross functional teams, quality systems, beverage manufacturing processes and company regulatory compliance.Essential Functions:* Implementation and monitoring of all quality standards, procedures and policies such as HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, SPC and Food safety* Design and management of a rigourous plant microbiological control program* Ensure raw ingredient, batching, thermal processing, package material, filling, packaging and logistics quality compliance. -Compliance and improvement auditing with implementation of corrective actions -Strong knowledge of food plant sanitation principles and techniques* Excellent communication skills at all levels. Ability to influence, support and lead customer, plant functional department and quality teams* Lean manufacturing, aseptic, microbiological, and/or chemist background a plus* Perform other duties as assigned.* Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.* Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.* Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.* Understand the customers business: New product and packaging trends, ingredient contributions and packaging trends.* Stay abreast of quality management technology and pertinent local, state and national regulations.Qualifications:* Must possess a Bachelor s degree B.A. from a four-year college or university in Food Science/Microbiology or a related field* Minimum of 5+ years management experience in food manufacturing environment or equivalent type of manufacturing* Food Science, microbiological and chemist background* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.* Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.* Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Kelly Scientific ResourcesA
