We expect to fill one position from this recruitment. This is a seasonal TERM position that is subject to up to six months of non-pay status. This position is seasonal in nature and subject to non-pay status. Subject to non-pay status means, work will last at least 13 pay periods and not exceed 24 pay periods in a year. During this period (which can be up to six months long), you will be placed in non-duty/non-pay status. Actual work schedule and period of non-duty is contingent upon funding and operational needs. While in pay status, you will work full-time.
Initial appointment is for 13 months; position may be extended up to four years total depending upon continued need for position and available funding.
You will supervise subordinate staff working at an entrance station, visitor center, campground or other visitor contact station, collecting fees and providing answers to visitor questions about recreational opportunities, interpretive services, and concession facilities and services. You distribute maps and brochures, provide directions through the park and inform visitors of potential safety hazards. You operate an electronic cash register, perform open and closing shift functions to verify money collected and stock sold.
