Prepares storage facility issues, inventories, and segregates supplies by type of class within fire, safety, and security requirements.* Inventories supplies and equipment and records results. Identifies, cleans, and sorts supplies and equipment for storage. Maintains a storage locator system.* Uses supply catalogues in identification, assembly, and breakdown of supplies, equipment, sets, kits, and outfits (SKOs).* Prepares requests for turn-in documents; processes supply requests; and prepares and processes follow-up and cancellation requests.* Performs operator and organizational maintenance on supply support equipment.* Assembles, disassembles, and reconstitutes supplies, equipment, and SKOs as required for storage.* Performs operator and organizational maintenance on quartermaster equipment (e.g., tents and heaters). Assembles, disassembles, and reconstitutes supplies, equipment, sets, kits, and outfits.* Operates loaded or empty vehicles with or without trailers under all weather, road, and terrain conditions. Utilizes road maps, signs, signals, and regulations incident to cargo operations. Operates material handling equipment (MHE) assigned to or used at the site. Performs before, during, and after vehicle and MHE equipment checks and services on equipment assigned to or used by the site.* Receives instruction on commitments, including time, reporting point, cargo, route, and destination. In conjunction with site supply personnel, develops transportation asset requirements for materiel being shipped from the site. Completes shipping, transportation, hazardous cargo, and all other documents required for the control, management, and identification of materiel being shipped from or being received by the site.* Tracks materiel being shipped from the site to ensure that it arrives at destination at the appropriate time, and is received by the appropriate unit personnel. Verifies units of issue, description, quantity, and condition of materiel being received by or shipped from the site. Initiates documentation required to account for discrepancies in shipping and damage resulting from transportation of equipment.* Prepares reports showing schedules for materiel being shipped by the site, total shipments made by the site, and other local reports required for capture of statistical information regarding transportation operations.* Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Supply Technician.* The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment''s storage plan.* Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.* This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:* Must be a U.S. Citizen.* Must have previous Army experience* Four years recent experience as a medical supply warehouse operator. Service is preferred, but not required, in a medical field organization.* Equivalent civilian background may be substituted for the above requirements. * Individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent.*
