Tetra Tech EM Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech, is currently seeking a full-time, Energy Engineer/Manager to work onsite at the Naval Air Facility  El Centro, CA.
The selected candidate will work onsite at the customers facility to provide comprehensive energy management services. Primary duties will focus on energy management, including program management services, but work will also include developing facilities energy efficiency improvements, developing distributed generation opportunities, developing renewable energy projects, providing energy training, performing design reviews, analyzing energy and utilities data, recommending improvements to utility procurement and operations, and related duties. The candidate will identify energy conservation opportunities and help facilitate the implementation of projects, initiatives, and programs that reduce energy consumption and demand, save money, and help the environment. The candidate will augment existing customer capabilities, work with both the customer and Tetra Tech in a team framework, and be an on-site action agent to facilitate energy and cost savings.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in energy management/engineering HVAC background experience with auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, commissioning, and building/system optimization is required. The candidate should be experienced in facilities management.  Previous experience working at Federal / DOD, especially Naval facilities is a plus.
This position requires knowledge of utility information systems, energy management technologies and metering excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills proficient computer skills including the use of spreadsheets especially Excel, and other database applications is required.
BS in mechanical engineering or energy-related technical field is required.
This position requires the select candidate to possess a US citizenship and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.  It also requires a motor vehicle record MVR background check.
The work environment will require the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of Sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree.  You must be able to climb ladders/access roofs/access narrow mechanical rooms.  The work environment will consist of an office environment as well as frequent field visits in and around various client facility sites.
