Complete DescriptionThe PI Coordinator works under the supervision of the PI/PS Manager to provide support to the PI/PS Department. The PI Coordinator is responsible for project managing all assigned aspects of the PI/PS Work Plan. Acts as a resource for department, administration, medical staff, and hospital personnel in areas related to PI/PS. Responsible for, designing, conducting and reporting clinical and operational studies, surveys, and reports to improve the quality and safety of patient care.Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BS or BA Degree required in any course of study. Current California RN licensure required. Certified Professional in Health Care Quality (CPHQ) preferred. Minimum of two years hospital based performance improvement experience preferred. Two years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Three years acute care experience required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must possess teaching ability, leadership ability, and high professional standards. Must demonstrate the ability to coordinate the work of others. Great project management skills. Must be highly organized, with the ability to set priorities, work independently, and be an effective team member. Must possess a high degree of attention to detail. Ability to abstract complex clinical data and create evidence based actionable opportunities. Excellent critical thinking skills. Excellent problem solving skills. Ability to lead and coach teams and mentor individuals. Ability to integrate information from multiple sources. Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and Power Point skills required. Access or other database management skills and SPC preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills required in interacting and dealing with administration, medical staff, and hospital personnel as well as external customers and external surveyors. Must be assertive and confident in managing complex situations and teams. Must be flexible and creative. Must have excellent customer service skills. Maintains confidentiality of information and is reliable, tactful, and discreet. Strong knowledge of accreditation/regulatory standards. Occasional attendance at evening meetings. Ability to travel between facility and work sites with access to an operating vehicle with at least minimal coverage auto insurance.
