JOB SUMMARY:

<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>A substitute teacher performs teaching duties in a classroom, on-call, as-needed for pre-kindergarten through grade tweleve. Attaining eligibility to work as an approved sub does not constitute a gaurentee of work, only eligibility to work if/when additional staff is needed, i.e. during the absence of a teacher. Substitutes need to be available with little notice, and be available at least some portion of the week Monday through Friday, approximately 800 am to 330, August through June. Applicants who do not possess a California teaching credential, but who do possess a Bachelors degree and have passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test CBEST, are eligible to apply for an Emergency Teaching permit. There are fees involved in obtaining the permit, and fees are at the expense of the applicant.
