<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>6678BRAdvertised Position Title Deputy Project ManagerDivision Mission SystemsWork Location CA, Fort IrwinJob Description THIS POSITION IS PENDING CONTRACT AWARDPOSITION SUMMARY:The Deputy Project Manager (DPM) is responsible to the Project Manager (PM) for the overall planning and execution of the transportation, maintenance, supply, Echelons Above Brigade (EAB) and Rotational Support functional departments. The DPM must demonstrate exemplary management and leadership capabilities, especially in the areas of collaboration, team building, talent development, fiscal and human resources management, and process improvement. Respects and responds to the Voice of the Customer (VOC); ensures mission execution IAW the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Serves as the acting PM when directed.MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:1.Ensure tasks received from the Government/customer are thoroughly analyzed and supported through the preparation of executable mission plans and orders.2.Attend various meetings in support of all supply, transportation, maintenance, and special task missions.3.Maintains situational awareness of logistics and maintenance activities at all operational nodes including the status of any operational, personnel and resource issues including the glide path for the resolution of any of these issues.4. Provides leadership, consultation and mentoring to the supply, maintenance, transportation and EAB managers and Centers of Excellence (COE) managers; creates development opportunities for senior leadership and their staff, and fosters a culture of continuous teaming throughout the organization.5.Manages financial matters, including authorization for purchase requests, requisitions, salary adjustments, travel and equipment lease in accordance with Exelis policy.6.Monitors the performance of subcontractors and vendors. Coordinates remedial action through the program s Contract Manager.7.Resolve conflicts regarding resource allocation.8.Oversees the development of annual budgets for each of the functional departments and track via Earned Value Management System (EVMS).9.Establishes programs to meet normal and contingency mission requirements. Directly supervise, monitor and control these programs as needed.10.Enforces compliance with applicable Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) and Waste Management policies and procedures.11.Encourages VBLSS project implementation.12.Performs other duties and assignments as required.MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:Personal computer and other general office equipment.WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Work is generally conducted in an office environment and at project work areas. Duties, however, may involve the conduct of work outdoors with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:Work may require stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical dangers and chemical or hazardous agents.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or college is required. Master s Degree is preferred. PMP certification is desired. Lean Six Sigma certification (Green/Black belt) is a plus.Experience:Minimum of ten years of Army logistics plans and operations experience. Experience in field and sustainment level logistics plans and operations including transportation, maintenance, and supply. Senior military logistics leadership experience may be substituted for direct PM experience. Previous DPM or PM experience on Army logistics contracts is desireable. Previous Army experience must include assignment(s) as a Battalion Commander, Executive Officer or Battalion/Brigade level Support Operations officer of an Army logistics unit. Knowledge of ASP and CIF operations, Army vehicle and equipment maintenance management, property management, supply operations, transportation
