<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Position is full-time temporary (SCA) working with the Warfighter FOCUS (WFF) program under the Warrior Training Alliance (WTA) at the National Training Center (NTC). WTA brings to bear the full capabilities of many of the world''s best systems integration and engineering companies in the technical integration of live, virtual and constructive (LVC) training support. The WFF NTC is located at Fort Irwin, CA, in the Mojave Desert, approximately forty miles northeast of Barstow, CA. WTA operations support the NTC mission: to provide realistic joint and combined arms training focused on developing soldiers, leaders, and units of the United States military for success on the 21st Century Battle Field.RESPONSIBILITIESApplies technical knowledge of electronics principals in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skills in restoring equipment operations. The loading/unloading and maintenance of pyrotechnic devices to include setup and recovery of special pyrotechnic effects. The handling of a variety of Pyrotechnic rounds to include loading, firing, unloading and disposal of live and dud Pyrotechnics. Performs maintenance, repair, and installation of various types of electronic equipment and related devices for Tactical Engagement Simulation (TES) teams. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level technician. Performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits; and simple repair functions. Work is spot checked for accuracy. Capturing an accurate maintenance history and ensuring the unique corrective measures taken for each occurrence are shared between the maintenance shifts, and ensures complete maintenance logs and other required documentation. Travels either by military vehicle, civilian truck or by foot, carries pyrotechnic devices to specified coordinates (locations), employing basic navigation techniques with map/compass or precision navigation using Global Positioning System (GPS) according to proscribed safety methods and secures material in vehicles using blocks, tie-downs, and stays. Will adhere to Company, Site Manager, Division Manager and Team leader directives, memoranda, policies and procedures. Support quality/ISO, security and training programs.REQUIREMENTSRequired Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.Desired Education: AA in Electronics Technology or equivalent trade or military schooling.Required Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience in handling of Hazardous Materials.Desired Physical Abilities: Ability to perform duties and travel in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind) and at height (helicopter travel, mountain tops, elevated walk areas, towers).Special Requirements: Must be able to obtain a valid California drivers license to include Class A/C with HAZMAT Endorsement (Live Fire, Firemarker, and Smoker teams), and maintain Post driving privileges and complete a Defensive Driving Course. Must be able to navigate in desert under limited and inclement weather conditions. Ability to read, write and comprehend U. S. Army Technical and Field Manuals. Must be able to lift a maximum of 50lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Willing to work any shift, weekends, Holidays, and overtime.
