<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>6690BRAdvertised Position Title Environmental, Safety and Health ManagerDivision Mission SystemsWork Location CA, Fort IrwinJob Description THIS POSITION IS PENDING CONTRACT AWARDPOSITION SUMMARY:The ESH Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the policies, programs, and procedures within the Exelis Environmental, Safety & Health Management System (ESHMS). The ESH Manager will ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NRC, DOT and Army environmental, radiological, ammunition, health and safety requirements established by regulatory requirements; and as applicable to the contract and sub-contractor provisions.MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:1.Commitment to, and implementation of, Exelis Environmental Health, Safety Mission, Principles, and Practices. Designated by the Project Manager to be the site Environmental Safety and Health Officer and Local Radiation Safety Officer.2.Participates actively in the management of the organization to establish policies and directions to achieve leadership in ESH program.3.Manages the ESH Program within the scope of the contract, and is responsible for compliance with all applicable ESH and corporate management standards.4.Ensures that all applicable internal and external reporting requirements are performed accurately and in a timely manner.5.Conducts workplace surveys and assessments. Advises responsible management of conditions requiring corrective actions.6.Oversees NRC radiation use license to assure full compliance by maintenance staff.7.Provides ESH briefings and training sessions as appropriate to fulfill regulatory requirements and foster a safety working environment.8.Performs accident investigations to determine probable cause.9.Establishes and maintains necessary contacts with site ESH regulatory agencies to ensure the highest level of assistance and service to the customer.10.Maintains required records in accordance with regulatory and Exelis requirements.11.Reviews all projects for ESH issues.12.Remains current in all applicable proposed ESH legislation. Represents the company s position as required.13.Responsible for continuing education and professional development.14.Performs other duties as assigned.MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:Personal computer and other general office equipment.WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Work is generally conducted in an office environment and at project work areas. Duties, however, may involve the conduct of work outdoors with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:Work may require lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical dangers and chemical or hazardous agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published work rules.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.Bachelor s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Health & Safety, industrial Safety; or related Bachelor s degree with a minimum of 8 hours Army-specific Radiological Safety Training. Must be a graduate of the 6-week Radiological Safety Course or must complete Post RSO training course within 90 days of employment. CHMM certification is highly desirable.Experience:Minimum of 5 years experience in military Safety, Health and Environment Standards and Procedures. Knowledgeable in lockout/tag out procedures and confined space operations. Working knowledge of California Code of Regulations Titles 8 & 17, CFR 29, 40 & 49 and CAL OSHA. Knowledgeable in ESH regulations, chemical and HAZMAT management and ISO 14001. Specific Experience should include a working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, NRC and DOT requirements.Skills:Must possess e
