<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS <br> Must have a Bachelors Degree in Social Welfare preferred OR an equivalent combination of knowledge and/or experience <br> Must possess a valid California drivers license and an excellent driving record <br> Must have a dependable automobile and coverage by an accredited automobile insurance policy <br> Must pass a criminal background and reference check <br> Administrative skills in social services or related fields <br> Excellent oral and written communication skills <br> Responsible and dependable able to appropriately represent ICWA program and tribe <br> Able to keep regular business hours <br> This position may be considered as a trainee position for one year and then become an ICWA position <br><br> SKILLS, DUTIES, AND PREFERENCES <br> Directly responsible for the basic functions of the tribal Indian Child Welfare Act ICWA program
Provide research and data gathering information for ICWA, such as development, documentation, and analysis of survey forms <br> Assist in the development and dissemination of an ICWA brochure <br> Gather and document child abuse and neglect data <br> Attend basic training in intake and casework, providing prevention services, and minor child welfare problems, investigation, processing, proceeding, court involvement, and foster family issues and problems <br> Become familiar with Bureau of Indian Affairs BIA social service programs and other programs assigned from other funding agencies <br> Become familiar with the Indian Child Welfare Act program and its functions <br> Become involved in a variety of ICWA workshop training programs and provide this information to the tribe and community <br> Become familiar with parents rights, Child Protection Services worker roles and related functions, court cases, and relations to the BIA and CASA <br> Coordinate with the Social Service department <br> Work closely with the State ICWA department <br> Responsible for all program reports and status reports to all agencies providing funds to the QVIR Social Service department <br> Report to the Tribal Council when requested <br> Assure compliance with 25 CFR, Part 20 and other governing laws and regulations <br><br> INDIAN PREFERENCE <br> In accordance with CFR 25, Part 276 and in accordance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Section 701b and 703i, preference in filling all vacancies will be given to qualified American Indian candidates.
