Performs installations, modifications, testing, repairs and preventive predictive maintenance to all electrical distribution and voice data communications infrastructure serving the clients Facilities.Major Duties and Responsibility: * Perform electrical corrective and preventive maintenance, identify and repair any electrical safety violations and operate facility systems.* Assure these tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner.* Work with other trade skill sets to complete work orders to trade standards and customer expectations.* Install electrical equipment and components in a neat and professional manner, in accordance with the National electric Code, local building codes, IEEE standards and USAA requirements.* Install branch circuit piping and wiring required for general power and lighting, distribution transformers, motor control circuits, panel boards, power distribution units and computer floor power wiring to equipment.* Inspect, test electrical lighting, signal, communication, power circuits and equipment.* Isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment or components using suitable troubleshooting testing instruments.* Examine and test elements of electrical systems to locate faults, such as blown fuses, short circuits, broken wires, loose connections, and worn motor brushes.* Replace faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators, and other elements of electrical systems, fixtures and applications.* Correct defective circuits by isolating and cutting out defective wiring and replacing it with new wiring, or by splicing ends.* Maintain and repair high voltage (13,800 volts), emergency critical load (computer) distribution systems. Perform complex testing of electrical switchgear assemblies and power transformers as mandated by NETA, IEEE, ANSI, and NEC. This includes insulation resistance testing, over current device coordination/calibration and testing, transformer insulation oil analysis for dielectric strength and combustible gas content, thermographicinfrared survey of electrical and mechanical systems.* Perform installations, alterations, and maintains the data communications network infrastructure. Install, terminate, and test all fiber optic and Category 5 UTP installations as per standards set forth by IEEE, ANSI, and BICSI. Provide certification of cable installations to designatedmanagement personnel in both Facilities and Information Systems. Provide troubleshooting support to Information Services personnel as required.* Install voice/data cabling as required on moves and relocations.* As required, estimate materials needed and document time and materials expended on each work order using the computerized Maintenance Management System (MMS).* If this job description is used in regional office’s the duties also may include: installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC/Refrigeration equipment, Environmental Management Control Systems (EMCS) electrical distribution, voice data communications and plumbing.* Continue both formal and informal training of electrical systems to assure the knowledge and ability to maintain the latest electrical systems. Can read blue prints and complete any necessary paper work assigned. Assure customer satisfaction with quality work performance.* Perform any and all other duties as assigned.
