The scope of the work may include complete product development cycle from concept to prototype (NPI), as well as DFMA and VAVE support for products designed by customers and manufactured by Sanmina. He/she will work on a range of products in industrial, semiconductor, renewable energy, telecom, networking, high-end computing and storage servers, medical, and multimedia markets. The successful candidate shall be self motivated, proactive, and have good communication and customer interaction skills.Job Responsibilities and Duties:&bull;Understand the required scope of work, estimate efforts needed, and support preparing proposals&bull;Coordinate mechanical design activities with other leads such as industrial and electrical design leads.&bull;Work with the manufacturing lead on assigned projects to make sure DFMA is an integral part of the design&bull;Deliver complete and accurate designs and drawings for fabrication, assembly and installation that meet project requirements and complies with applicable US and international codes and standards.&bull;Provide technical guidance to internal manufacturing teams in releasing new products to Manufacturing.&bull;Prepare high level BOM, layouts, sketches and drawings as required.&bull;Coordinates work efforts with internal and external engineering teams&bull;Works with manufacturing engineers and supply chain in taking cost out of existing designs and value engineering.&bull;Review engineering changes and determine cost (design man-hours) to implement approved changes.&bull;Full development of new design concepts and modifications to existing designs.&bull;Reside in customer site for certain duration of project if needed.&bull;Travel to Sanmina-SCI Manufacturing or customer sites when required.Qualifications:&bull;Bachelor''s Degree in mechanical engineering (BSME). Masters in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) is preferred.&bull;3-5 years of relevant electromechanical product design and development, or manufacturing experience.&bull;Excellent communication skills to develop and maintain proactive customer interaction&bull;Experience in designing of die cast parts, injections molded plastics, and sheet metal enclosures are preferred&bull;Excellent Pro/E and or Solidworks skills&bull;PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Project tools&bull;Familiarity with costing techniques and knowledge of Boothroyd and Dewhurst DFMA Software are great advantages***m07/16/2012
