He/she is responsible for the inspection, material disposition, supporting supplier corrective actions, root cause analysis team, confirmation of counter measures / clean points, and first article inspections for all parts received. The Mechanical Inspector is responsible for driving continual product and process improvement within the receiving inspection group. The Mechanical Inspector will work with Supplier Quality Engineers, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations in the inspections and containments of nonconforming product on the production floor. Work will require participation in cross-functional teams, daily production meetings, and some supplier interactions. This is a very hands-on individual with the ability to read mechanical detailed drawings, understand specifications for materials and performance characteristics, and well versed in the use of metrology equipment such as calipers, height gages, thread gages, paint thickness equipment, HiPot testing, and other various hand held measurement devices.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:* Execute the AQL and 100% inspection of various received parts on a daily basis.* Daily reporting on inspection findings and results.* Verify first article inspection samples to the full requirements of drawings.* Conduct drawing reviews with cross-functional teams to identify the significant characteristics of parts and assemblies to be inspected.* Support the manufacturing line with root cause investigations and execute or coordinate containment of product.* Actively participate in daily inspection meetings to report status and priorities.In today
