Description:Under general supervision, the LRAM Range Worker will perform specialized semi-skilled work to assist in the execution of land rehabilitation and maintenance projects, land condition monitoring, and other assigned duties. This position is responsible for site preparation, installation of native plants and erosion control structures, trail maintenance/repair, seeding, soil/plant monitoring, off-limits marking, and vehicle/equipment maintenance. Employee may be required to dig, fill, or reshape soil with shovels, power augers, or mechanized equipment; construct objects with hand or power tools; measure plants and collect soil samples; load and off-load equipment and materials by hand or forklift; install fences, off-limits markers, and signs using picket pounders and other tools; apply seed mixes by hand or drill seeder; move plants and supplies by hand or on trailer; and conduct routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment;Experience and Qualifications:* Demonstrated knowledge of equipment operations (augers backhoe, tractor, bucket loader, water truck, dump truck)<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />* Experience with 4WD, off-road driving, and towing trailers or implements.* Ability to work under adverse field conditions (extreme temperatures, wind, blowing sand, etc.)* Drivers License and clean driving record* Experience working both independently and in a team* Ability to follow written directions and maintain written records* Ability to traverse rough terrain carrying loads of up to 50 lbs.* Ability to work and learn on the job.* Good oral and written communication skills.Preferred:* Commercial Drivers License* Experience with operation of hand tools, power tools, and light/heavy equipment* Experience in Southwestern environments and/or on military installations.* Experience with the Army training doctrine.* Experience in construction techniques for erosion control in a desert environment.* Experience with native desert plants.* Military experienceParsons offers an ethical, challenging, diverse, rewarding and fun work experience where enthusiastic, responsible people use their energy, talent and dedication to make a difference in the world.We provide career growth and development, a competitive compensation and benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; tuition reimbursement program; credit union membership; and a 401(k) plan.
