To make your mark as Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for the following:Duties:55% Perform investment accounting functions for TMIS and manage vendor relationships: * Coordinate and monitor State Street Bank accounting and custody activities. * Obtain appropriate reports from State Street Bank&#39;s web-based Custody and Accounting systems to:* Perform month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation and GL input.* Perform compliance testing and verify adherence to investment guidelines.* Assist in the preparation of schedules to support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation of Investment fluctuation, Japan package, SEC filings, Tax reporting, Statutory filings, Certified financial statement disclosures, Cash flow, Yield calculations and Investment Committee Meeting materials.* Review and reconcile reports to ensure accuracy. Follow-up with State Street Bank regarding discrepancies or unusual items.* Monitor and evaluate the performance of investments held by the Toyota Financial Services Insurance Group.* Develop standard measures for evaluating performance at the fund level, company level, and portfolio level.* Evaluate each fund&#39;s impact on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results. * Create spreadsheets and models to identify key trends in investment performance.  20% Manage relationship with Cash Management/Treasury: * Monitor banking and cash activity for three insurance entities via Trema. Review daily and monthly reports to ensure proper accounting of transactions.* Prepare cash flow analysis to meet short-term cash requirements (maintain liquidity).* Act as primary Insurance Group contact with Treasury Department and banks.* Coordinate wire transfers and custodial deposits with TFS Cash Management, TMS Cash Management, and banks as applicable.15% Maintain accounting policy and SOX compliance for Investments Accounting:* Work with the Accounting Policy Group and external resources to keep current on new accounting guidance as it relates to investments accounting.* Independently or in conjunction with the Accounting Policy Group, research, interpret and implement new accounting guidance as needed. Formally document accounting methodology, disclosures, and procedures.* Maintain and update SOX control documentation including SOX process narratives, control tables, and evidence of control performance.* Review SSAE 16 reports for PIMCO & State Street Bank and support the ongoing operation of investment accounting control procedures* Support the quarterly review/assessment of the operating and design effectiveness of controls in place.10% Special Projects* Support initiatives proposed by Finance Technology, Treasury and other business partners as investments accounting subject matter expert.* Lead and/or support TMIS governance projects as needed.* Identify opportunities to streamline/automate accounting processes without impairing controls. Propose recommendations to management and independently coordinate implementation of changes approved by management.The candidate who fills this position will have the option to work a 9/80 alternative schedule which means working 80 hours over nine calendar days, with the tenth day off. The day off will be alternating Fridays. TFS is looking for individuals with strong business sense and practical expertise.
