In addition, working with limited supervision from the Engineering Manager and Program Manager, will provide technical oversight for various programs from concept through final delivery to customer.Essential Mechanical Engineering Duties and Responsibilities:* Perform mechanical engineering tasks related to component design (stress analysis, material selection, sizing, etc.), manufacturing process definition, and final testing.* Perform mathematical calculations, FEA modeling, tolerance analyses, direct designers and draftsmen to prepare detail and assembly drawings per ASME standards.* Assist in the establishment of milestone schedules for detailed tasks.* Perform to the program schedules established by the program managers.* Conduct investigations or tests of varying degrees of complexity pertaining to the development of new designs, methods, materials, or processes.* Investigate possible application of results, applying training and experience in one or several specialized branches of engineering.* Obtains, correlates, and analyzes technical information needed to accomplish assigned tasks.Required Competencies/Skills:* Conceptual design* Mechanical analysis* Knowledge of manufacturing techniques* Technical writing of reports and proposals* General technical understanding of projects, from requirements to product test* Strong communication, leadership, and team building skills* Resourceful and collaborative, individual Initiative and sound judgmentEducation and/or Experience Required:* BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace, and 2-5 years related experience.If you require assistance or an accommodation for a disability covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act, please email staffing@gd-ots.com or call: 727-578-8252.
