Position will entail setup and breakdown of numerous organizational events; moving and setting up seating, tables, food service areas, and general cleanup support. This person will also assist with oversight of cafeteria areas during lunch activities, keeping area sanitary and orderly, and assisting as necessary. The custodian/day porter will also be required to assist with various other tasks as needed, such as delivering mail or packages across campus, assisting with inventory maintenance, etc.Job Activities* Performs a variety of custodial services such as maintaining cleanliness of office spaces and classrooms, vacuuming, dusting, etc.* Deliver mail and packages as needed.* May assist in delivering meals or food items to meeting areas or other areas as needed.* Oversee lunch room cleanliness, receive trays, assist with waste disposal and composting strategies.* Various other activities as directed or required.Experience Required* Minimum 3 years experience providing quality custodial or janitorial support in a busy public environment.* Experience cleaning/ servicing general use kitchen areas, utilizing proper cleaning techniques, soaps, or other cleaning materials.* Mail room and mail delivery experience preferred.* Experience setting up, breaking down, and general support of organizational events and activities.* Ability to deal positively with changing work requirements in a busy environment is key.
