Knowledge and Skills:Position requires basic mechanical and building maintenance skills which may develop into advanced skills, using tools and equipment appropriate to the position. Ability to effectively communicate policies, and/or written procedures in a manner easily understood by fellow employees.Specific physical abilities are required to successfully perform in this position, including manual dexterity, agility, ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, bending, and lifting or carrying supplies or equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Wearing appropriate protective clothing or equipment required by work environment or government regulations is required.Job Activities* Preforms light maintenance service or repairs in one or more skilled areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical repairs or installations, or vehicle servicing.* Assists skilled trade workers in one or more areas o performing specific or standard duties.* Performs tasks such as but not limited to changing light bulbs, emptying trash bins, moving or assembling furniture, and replacing toilet paper or hand towels, etc.* Works under direct sulervision and follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.Experience Required* 1-3 years general facilities maintenance preferred.* Ability to safely use applicable tools appropriate for position.
