The Animal Care Center Supervisor will supervise, train, and schedule Animal Care Center personnel; oversee and coordinate daily operations; assist administrative, purchasing and budgeting functions; handle citizen inquiries/complaints; and ensure adherence to Animal Care Center standards and program procedures. This person will manage the Center&rsquo;s volunteer programs consisting of approximately 500 volunteers who donate 50,000 hours per year. The Animal Care Center Supervisor oversees the work of 20-30 part-time staff, directly supervises three full-time employees and reports to the Animal Care Center Administrator.The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated successful experience with volunteer management, supervising part-time staff, establishing a culture of superior customer service and recommending policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness. This person should have excellent people management skills, a keen understanding of animal care center operations, fundraising experience and the ability to coordinate and facilitate training sessions.Hours:This position will have a regular work schedule of Tuesday-Saturday 8:00 AM &ndash; 4:30 PM and some Sundays, with advanced notice.To Apply:This is a continuous recruitment and interested applicants should submit their application as soon as possible. This recruitment may close at any time without notice.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The following duties are normal for this classification. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all- inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.&bull; Oversees and coordinates the day-to-day operations and programs of the Animal Care Center, insuring that the established basic care standards are met. Develops, recommends and implements long-range goals, objectives, and policies relevant to the Animal Care Center. Prepares new program proposals and evaluates and recommends improvements or replacement of existing programs and services.&bull; Oversees kennel operations; evaluates animals for adoptability; reviews behavioral assessments and makes recommendations regarding on-going disposition of animals to the Animal Care Administrator. Coordinates the cleaning and disinfecting of kennels and the feeding and care of all animals; maintains standards of conduct and cleanliness; assists Animal Services Officers with kenneling of animals; may transport animals to off-site facilities. Recommends procedures consistent with departmental directives, policies and regulations and ensures that appropriate policies and procedures are followed by subordinates and customers. Assists Animal Care Center Veterinarian in providing animal medical care as needed.&bull; Supervises assigned staff. Delegates assignments, explains special orders and information. Investigates citizen complaints and inquiries regarding subordinate personnel. Prepares and reviews written and oral performance evaluations. Assigns objectives and recommends and implements a variety of personnel actions.&bull; Oversees the Animal Care Center volunteer program; recruits and trains volunteers; assists volunteers and affiliated non-profit organizations to meet their objectives; supervises the Regional Occupational Program and other related programs.&bull; Ensures that building, equipment and amenities of the Animal Care Center are maintained and in working order and supplies are adequate to meet basic care standards; arranges custodial, maintenance, rehabilitation and repair work; recommends and implements equipment replacement.&bull; Develops, adm
