The candidate will also provide a high level of technical know-how within a specialty field(s).ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Strong Automation and Manufacturing experience is required. Must have experience in managing large capital projects related to automation, installation, startup, commissioning and qualifications.2. Knowledge and understanding of equipment integration, cleaning, process development under GMP environment.3. Research, develop and prepare specifications for new products, processes, equipment and technology.4. Manage projects by developing a project schedule and team, tracking costs, preparing status reports, conducting team meetings and communicating issue and progress to management.5. Prepare RCI''s including project description, schedule, and costs.6. Supervise and direct contract personnel and outside vendors in the performance of contracted services.7. Provide leadership and guidance to subordinates within the Engineering organization.8. May supervise daily activities of Associate Engineer(s) and all levels of Engineering Technicians assigned to a project.9. Provide direction and technical decision making for management involving capital asset purchase and expenses for projects and/or strategic activities in excess of $15MM (capital/expense/revenue potentials).10. Prepare and present technical investigative reports including recommendations to senior level management.EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:Required: BS degree with at least twelve (12) years demonstrated successful performance/experience in an applicable Engineering position.Desired: BS degree in Engineering with at least twelve (12) years demonstrated successful performance/experience in a Pharmaceutical Engineering position.KNOWLEDGE:1. Demonstrated expertise within a specialty(s) area.2. Understanding of basic statistics and its application in Engineering.3. Knowledge of GMP''s both basic and unique to the individual''s specialty(s) area.4. Software packages such as project management, spreadsheets, word processors and packages unique to the individuals specialty(s) area.5. Good understanding of manufacturing methods related to the individuals specialty(s) area.SKILLS/ABILITIES:1. Use of computer and peripherals related to the specialty(s) area.2. Communication skills, verbal and written, commensurable with dealing with senior level management.3. Ability to evaluate competence and vendors to perform work within the individual''s specialty(s) area.4. Project management skills needed to run large company projects.5. Preparation of RCI''s.6. Work independently and as a team member.7. Ability to analyze, investigate and propose approaches to highly technical issues.8. Ability to organize, evaluate and summarize experimental data.B.
