<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Position: Payroll SpecialistLocation: IrvineDate Posted: 4/9/2012Pay Rate: $22.00/hrJob Number: 4545 03AFOCDescription: Payroll Specialist Job Summary:Under general supervision, processes non-exempt and exempt semi-monthly payroll including new hires, rehires, manual checks, pay increases, tax changes, benefit deductions, bonuses, garnishments, levys, child support and benefit accruals. Payroll Specialist Essential Functions:Processes semi-monthly payroll for designated facilities; processes manual checks as needed.Acts as first point of contact for employees to be of service for various payroll related matters; researches and provides answers in a timely and accurate manner, implementing methods for follow-up as needed.Supports field Employee Services Coordinators to include answering questions and providing guidance and training.Runs reports after each payroll to include update of department directories with required reports; runs ad hoc or custom reports as needed.Audits payroll information for accuracy.Partners with HR on a variety of employee actions, making adjustments/changes on an ongoing basis, and ensuring workflow and processes are developed, implemented, and improved.Files and organizes payroll records and reports.Processes and maintains Wage Garnishments (ADP WGPS), Verifications of Employment and compliance with applicable contracts if needed.Maintains the ADP eTime programming and collection process.Partners with other members of Payroll team to provide additional support during times of deadlines, critical priorities, or uneven workloads.Non-Essential or Infrequent Duties:Coordinates, researches, and completes miscellaneous projects as needed to include updates to manuals, and policies and procedures.Participates in problem solving and special projects within the Payroll Department.Performs other duties as assigned.Payroll Specialist Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proven success in providing proactive, timely, and accurate customer service.Outstanding, proven verbal and written communication skills.Unquestionable integrity, confidentiality, and performance of duties with dignity and compassion.Intermediate to advanced skill in Word and Excel.Proven ability to assess systems and processes and make improvements.Proven success in working in a team-oriented setting, utilizing others skills and knowledge, sharing information, and supporting team outcomes.Proven ability to successfully work with and meet deadlines.Proven ability to successfully perform in an environment with changing priorities and assignments.Payroll Specialist Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.Four or more years experience in a large organization, preferably multi-site, with considerable contact with client managers and employees.Solid payroll administration expertise across a variety of circumstances and complexity experience inADP preferred.TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION EMAIL YOUR RESUME TO :mmonahan@helpmates.comCategory: Accounting and FinanceLength: Temp to Hire Yes!
