The Mechanical Design Engineer will participate in design, test and integration phases of thermal printing mechanisms as well as interface with suppliers of components and in-house assembly operations.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES  RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duty is to design plastic parts for print mechanism and housings for integrated portable printer-computer work boards. Analyze for mechanical fit and interfaces with electronic components, tolerance studies and oversee prototype fabrications.
Analyze mechanical design and engineering problems in production and at suppliers recommend solutions monitor and interface for resolutions.
Finite Element Analysis FEA modeling and problem solving.
Participate in program presentations and technical meetings.
Perform a variety of tasks, such as developing specification, cost estimates, investigation of trouble report some degree of creativity is expected.
Limited travel in the USA to visit suppliers and customers.
Perform other duties as may be required by the company.
