Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors of Science Degree and a minimum of 4 years of mechanical design experience with mechanisms and moving parts. Job Description:Supports development of next generation/breakthrough products and technology for Advanced Development Engineering. Develops new and unproven concepts and new processes. Identifies unmet customer needs and trends and creates innovative design solutions. Works collaboratively with marketing and end-users to identify needs and develop innovative new products and design solutions. Makes design models in 3D CAD. Understands and uses geometric tolerances and statistical process control (SPC) principles. Integrates needs of end users, customer service and manufacturing to provide optimum designs that exceed competitive offerings.Qualifications:- Able to generate innovative mechanical designs and unique design solutions. - Strong knowledge and use of analytical software (e.g. Spring design, Pro-Mechanica). - Strong knowledge and use of the Wind-chill suite of programs, including Pro-Engineer, PDM-Link, and Project-Link, in developing new product concepts and communicating final configuration. - Working knowledge of high volume production processes, materials, tooling and equipment for manufacturing of metal stamping, die-casting, forming, and finishing for builders hardware or similar products is desirable. - Experience in designing electro-mechanical systems is a plus- Basic understanding and aptitude for marketing or product positioning.Join Aerotek, one of the leading providers of engineering and engineering support professionals in North America.
