<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Medical Device Company is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with design, analysis, & hands-on development experience to join our dynamic Research & Development organization.Overall Summary:The incumbent will be responsible for research, planning, design & development of surgical consumable devices for use in ophthalmic surgery.Responsibilities include, but not limited to:* Researches, plans, designs & develops mechanical products for ophthalmic surgery.Minimum Qualifications:* Bachelor''s degree in Engineering* 9 years related experience* Understanding of materials fundamentals & processes* Fluid mechanics, injection molding, extrusion, engineering plastics &/or elastomeric materials* Experience with biocompatibility & sterility standards* Knowledge of Pro-E or similar 3D CAD application* Excellent written & verbal communication skills* Prior experience leading technical teams & releasing new medical products to market* Ability to work in highly structured engineering documentation environmentPreferred Qualifications:* Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degreeOur generous benefits package includes the Novartis Investment Savings 401(k) Plan which provides a company contribution of up to 6%.
