For more information,www.alcon.com.Medical Device Company in Irvine, CA (Orange County) is currently seeking 2 Senior Mechanical Engineers with design, analysis, and hands-on development experience to join our dynamic Research & Development organization.Overall Summary: The incumbent will be responsible for research, planning, design and development of surgical consumable devices for use in ophthalmic surgery.Responsibilities include, but not limited to:* Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products for ophthalmic surgery.Minimum Qualifications:* Bachelor''s degree in Engineering* 9 years related experience* Understanding of materials fundamentals and processes* Fluid mechanics, injection molding, extrusion, engineering plastics and/or elastomeric materials* Experience with biocompatibility and sterility standards* Knowledge of Pro-E or similar 3D CAD application* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Prior experience leading technical teams and releasing new medical products to market* Ability to work in highly structured engineering documentation environmentPreferred Qualifications:* Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degreeOur generous benefits package includes the Novartis Investment Savings 401(k) Plan which provides a company contribution of up to 6%.
