Prestigious West Coast Civil Engineering and Land Survey Consulting Services firm actively seeks Transportation Project Manager to lead our team of engineers and designers in all aspects of design for roadway, highway, and freeway projects for City, County and State agencies lead business development efforts and lead and participate in project pursuits in Southern California. This professional will work out of our Irvine, California office.
The role the Project Manager is to take the lead and coordinate the necessary tasks required to complete multiple projects in conformity to scope of work.  This will include the adherence to scope, budgets, and schedules.   The production elements of this position are reduced with a greater emphasis on the coordination of all project delivery elements. Supervisory responsibilities are critical in this position with a higher degree of training and guiding the development of lower level staff.  The individual in this position will need to apply their skills to a higher level of complexity and delivery demand than required at the Project Engineer level. This individual must maintain excellent communication with both upper management and lower level staff and all in-house departments and sub-consultants who are part of the project team
Role and Responsabilies
Lead large project teams to successful completion of quality deliverables
Manage quality, budget and schedule of small to medium size contracts
Insure the supervisor is provided with quality drafts of proposal elements for inclusion in project proposals
Participate in project interviews
Independently prepare two or more reports for client, including various Caltrans reports
Desired Skills  Experience
- Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California
- 6+ years of Transportation Engineering and/or Public Works Engineering experience at least 1 year as a Senior Design Engineer
- Successful management and delivery of Caltrans and local agency projects PSRs to PSEs
- Knowledge of engineering procedures R/W acquisition, environmental clearance, utiliy relocation
- Willingness to actively participate in the development of staff through ongoing mentorship and internal company training programs
- Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures
- Strong written and oral communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint and MS Project
- Knowledge of overall project deliverable PSR, PAED, PSE
- Must have strong client interaction skills and experience
- Candidates with local Southern California area industry experience are strongly preferred
- Must have considerable to significant transportation engineering experience within the private sector providing consulting services.
