Production Control/Technician This position
supports the VSE Corporation staff located at Fort
Hunter Liggett, California.
Reports to the Production Control Supervisor or
his/her designee
Develop and maintain the sites Production
Schedule and forecast, and present it to the
Production Control Supervisor on time. This may
also require balancing other site production
schedules and lead-time demands with the
Divisions master schedule. Maintains a good
understanding of Manufacturing Resources Planning
MRP and how it relates to various activities.
Coordinate and develop short and long range
production schedules and forecast by working with
the Production Control Planner and site production
control supervisor and other site personnel and
releases work orders based on the production
schedule to meet all program delivery
requirements.
Work with the Materials/Inventory coordinator
and the Production Control Planner to develop
timely and accurate documentation of production
data and monitor material resource utilization and
plan.
Support to production control supervisor and
site manager by maintaining accurate and detailed
status of work in process, forecasts and future
resource requirements.
Provides support to other sites by maintaining
accurate records, coordinating and supplying
required schedules and status reports in a timely
manner.
Provide overall coordination of customer
requirements through the entire team operations
interfacing with Quality Assurance, Engineering,
Purchasing, Receiving, Shop Assembly, Test, and
Shipping.
Schedule orders based on next available
production plan or based on lead-time of
components.
Coordinate with supply and create shortage lists
for production meetings.
Work closely with the Production Control
Supervisor and site personnel to ensure production
schedules can be met with accuracy and efficiency.
Maintain and publish weekly and monthly reports
and metrics, which include, on time shipment
performance and production status.
Manage the demand forecasting for all parts.
Communicate material or production issues that
affect the ability to meet the current production
schedule.
Maintaining Government equipment tracking logs
Any other duties that may be assigned
Qualifications Required
Education High School graduate or equivalent.
Must posses a minimum of 4 years experience
performing directly related activities.
Must perform assigned tasks with a minimum of
supervision.
Must be able to work in a team environment with
customers, engineers, and other personnel to
complete assigned task.
Must posses the physical ability to perform the
job while standing for long periods of time lift
no less than 30 pounds.
Must be an effective communicator to maintain
continuous liaison with supported activities.
