The principal responsibilities include discovery of novel therapeutic targets, and characterizing underlying molecular and cellular mechanisms of active pharmacological agents as a single therapeutics or in combination with other agents. This position requires strong knowledge in cancer genetics and signaling networks, as well as proven expertise in cutting-edge molecular and cellular techniques. The candidate should have experience in creating and directing innovative approaches to target discovery and validation, including functional screening strategies using RNAi or chemical genetics to identify targets, and the use of genetic and pharmacological tools to validate targets. Experience in leveraging and integrating genomics data and pharmacological data to identify and advance high value targets into drug discovery is required. The ability to work collaboratively with members of the biology, bioinformatics, chemistry, HTS and pharmacology groups will be a key ingredient for success in this position.
