JOB SUMMARY:

<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>This journey-level maintenance position is responsible for Metropolitans diving operations. This position located in the La Verne Valve Dive Shop will also be responsible for maintaining and refurbishing Metropolitans valves, gates and their operators. Duties include, but are not limited to participate in all Metropolitans maintenance diving operations and some water quality diving operations use, service and maintain Metropolitans diving and life support equipment including SCUBA, AGA, Guardian, Kirby-Morgan helmets and surface air supply compressors and umbilicals use underwater and surface communication masks and devices work with underwater hydraulic tools and equipment, including drilling, grinding, sawing, power washing, welding, and exothermic cutting operate Metropolitan diving boats and barges and troubleshoot, maintain, disassemble, repair, refurbish, reassemble, and test large Metropolitan valves and gates, including their operators electric, hydraulic and pneumatic. May use computerized maintenance management systems to track work and participate in plant and system shutdowns and special projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED in addition to a minimum of 6 years in a mechanical maintenance position in a pump plant, treatment plant, hydroelectric or conveyance and distribution facility or similar environment OR
High school diploma or GED in addition to the attainment of journey level skills through a recognized electrical trade training program. Journey level experience as demonstrated by practical application of general and advanced techniques and practices specific to the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems in treatment or pump plants, conveyance and distribution, and/or power generation systems, and related apparatus.
Advanced Open Water SCUBA Diver certification and Rescue Diver certification must provide a copy of each certification.
Valid Drivers license from state of residency, equivalent to a California Class C.
