Summary
Technical leadership role in the design development of automated material handling equipment from concept through final testing and implementation. All aspects of mechanical design and documentation are included in this role.
Duties Responsibilities
-Provide innovative and cost effective technical solutions through entire product cycle from concept, modeling, documentation, testing, installation and support.
-Hands-on mechanical design of automated equipment from system to component level.
-Supervise designers, run design review meetings.
-Approve design documents and enforce processes and standards.
Education and/or Experience
-Bachelor degree ME minimum plus 5 years full product cycle experience in the design of large scale electro-mechanical devices/machinery. Material-handling systems and/or AS/AR systems experience preferred.
-10 years experience in advanced design work, preferably proficient with multiple design software systems.
-Proven track record of successful product development, using a variety of design tools and prototyping techniques.
-Working knowledge of product planning and management software, such as M.S. Project.
-Knowledge of FDA Quality System and Design Control requirements and their application to projects from design inception to manufacturing release.
Proficient in Inventor or other 3D mechanical design software.
-Technical Skills -
- Proficiency in Inventor or other 3D mechanical design software packages.
- Proficiency in Nastran or other FEA software packages.
- Expertise in performing stress/deformation analysis of parts and assemblies
