<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Public Works InvestigatorThe Public Works Investigator shall initiate and process to completion investigations of Drywall Finishing, Floor Covering, Glazing and Painting Contractors and their workers performing work under Public Works Contracts. The Public Works Investigator shall initiate and process investigations, from start to finish, which shall include but not be limited to investigating potential violations, interviewing potential claimants, and witnesses, testifying and/or coordinating the testimony of individuals before appropriate agencies and filing formal complaints with appropriate agencies and processing all paperwork and required forms, etc. related to complaints filed. The Public Works Investigator is expected to work independently and to exercise professional judgment and discretion in carrying out the duties of the position. All work is expected to be carried out within the normal work week (Monday thru Friday) and regular eight hour work days. Any and all overtime must be preauthorized.Duties:-     The Public Works Investigator reviews and evaluates information received from the staff and constituents on projects requiring an investigation-     Initiates and performs license checks, receives Dodge reports, reviews Divisions of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) information and other information as required to initiate and process complaints-     Obtains general project related documents such as subcontractor lists, proof of insurance, evidence of bonding, confirms start of work on and anticipated length of project-     Determines when to request contract documents; certified payroll records (CPR&rsquo;s), etc.-     Identifies and works with appropriate contact person in order to process requests for records from appropriate agencies-     Follows up on any information requests, records requests, and/or CPR requests made but not received-     Maintains an accurate record of all contacts with individuals, agencies, third party labor compliance programs obligated to provide information and if necessary, seeks legal assistance (covered by the company&rsquo;s retainer) to obtain documents and information from non-responsive providers-     Analyzes initial information received from agencies-     Analyzes payroll records in order to locate compliance discrepancies-     Determines if further records are required, or if complaints need to be filed-     Establishes if agency has on site inspector and, if so, requests copies of job logs or interviews job inspector (if necessary) as to number of employees on site and expected completion date-     Evaluates further information for further monitoring of project-     Reviews information as to contractor license status and history, DAS status and any previous cases, judgments and /or assessments with same contractor prior to filing complaints-     Composes, develops, and processes complaints to various agencies and follows up on results-     Communicates with staff on status of cases-     Coordinates with Director and Board of Directors to determine if legal assistance (beyond what is covered by retainer) is necessary on a specific case-     Maintains daily, current and accurate data for case files in database and hard copy files, which may include, but is not limited to, action taken, telephone conversations, worker statements, etc.-     Closes cases upon completion, creates case summary and files cases-     Processes DAS requests on a daily basis (if necessary) &ndash; filing them in data files-     Provides technical assistance to constituents on labor standards requirements-     Attends various meetings, conferences, and hearings as requiredEssential Skills:-     Must be fluent (verbal and written) In English. Bilingual in Spanish (verbal and written) preferred-     Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook) in order to maintain accurate information in database and create all forms of correspondence, including reports, complaints, forms,
