hiring for the position of Social Services
Director. The Social Services Directors
responsibilities include managing and overseeing
all of the Social Services Department staff and
programs providing clinical and administrative
supervision of Social Services programs
performing grants management duties performing
strategic planning and policy development
planning and developing grant applications
monitoring and controlling fiscal and programmatic
activities negotiating and preparing contracts
with service providers coordinating Indian Child
Welfare Act ICWA program attending community
collaborative partner meetings.
Minimum Qualifications-
Must have a Masters Degree in Social Work
or Psychology, or related human services field.
Must have 2 years post-Masters social work
experience with youth, elders, and persons with
addictive behaviors, preferably with some work
experience in a supervisory capacity.
Must have some grant writing/grant
management experience, or at least the ability to
manage government grants, contracts and programs.
Must have a valid drivers license and
clean driving record and be willing to work
evening hours as needed.
Must have knowledge of Principles of
evidence-based, solution-focused, strengths-based
social work practice and counseling approaches
dealing effectively with emotionally distraught
and/or disorderly individuals from various socio-
economic groups basic supervision principles
social services administration preparing
effective reports, correspondence and other
written materials case management and maintaining
accurate records and files community support
services and resources grant-writing and grant
management Indian Child Welfare Act law and
Native American history
