<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Diet Technician 1Division: InfrastructureDepartment: BMC CafeteriaSchedule: UnscheduledSalary Range: LL3293: $13.65 - $19.28 HourlyShift: AMHours: Job Details: * - Associates Degree* Job Summary:The Dietetic Technician I (DT) responsibilities include collection and review of nutrition screening information for patient referral to a dietitian, monitoring for changes in nutritional status during admission, providing patients on a specialized diet program the opportunity to select age appropriate menu items, assuring that nutritional restrictions and food preferences have been met, completing nutrient intake analysis reports, and providing patients and family members with information on general nutrition. The Diet Technician I will participate in training dietetic students and staff. The Diet Technician 1 will attend clinical meetings, in-services, and area-specific meetings. Participates in weekend/holiday rotation. Performs other duties as needed.Job Specifications: Associate''s Degree in Dietetics/Foods or Nutrition required. Bachelor''s Degree in Foods or Nutrition preferred. Minimum of one year of clinical nutrition experience preferred. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Knowledge of nutritional food values, meal planning and therapeutic menu processes. Handling/gripping, speed movements, fine dexterity, writing and speaking skills necessary for the job, able to operate calculator, computer, typewriter, copy machines, and telephone. Must be able to communicate effectively with others, collaborating and accepting direction, able to work calmly and courteously when under pressure, display a positive and professional demeanor to patients, family members, and co-workers, able to be consistent in enforcing Medical Center Policies. Ability to speak and write in English fluently. Ability to speak Spanish desirable.
