<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Provider Service Specialist SCAN Health Plan&laquo; Back to Search FormDetailsLocation: CA - Long Beach Job Type: Health CareBase Pay: N/A Required Education: Not SpecifiedBonus: Required Experience: Not SpecifiedOther: Required Travel: Not SpecifiedEmployee Type: Full-Time Relocation Covered: Not SpecifiedIndustry Healthcare - Health Services, Social Services, Managed Care Job ID: 12-812 DescriptionJOB PURPOSE:To build a focused relationship between providers (including Medical Groups, IPAs, Hospitals and Physicians) and SCAN that fosters specific metric improvements (such as 5 Star).ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:Enhance the relationship between SCAN and its providers by developing a cross-organizational team to identify opportunities to improve metrics.Understand the provider''s relevant programs/goals and design SCAN support to assist with achievements.Develop and implement identified opportunities in conjunction with SCAN personnel, using the relationship with the provider to attain traction.Enhance the synergies between SCAN and its contracted providers'' programs, ensuring no duplication, achieving operational efficiencies, and improving effectiveness.Train provider personnel on tools and reports to be used to achieve metrics.Contribute to team performance, by meeting identified metric goals as assigned.Act as a technical resource on assigned metrics and their affiliated programs; offer strong leadership internally as well as externally.Ensure that there is a feedback loop of continuous improvement between SCAN and the providers, whereby outcomes of the implemented programs are reviewed for process improvement, with results being incorporated into future programs.Participate as part of the Network Management team in network development and evaluation and to achieve performance goals.Utilize understanding of the business risk relationships to interact and influence Physician Group Administrators and key physician leaders.Support the efforts of Network Management by participating in interdepartmental meetings and select committees.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.RequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor''s Degree, or equivalent experience.5+ years experience working in health care provider operations or an equivalent amount of experience in project management.Self-starter who can initiate and lead projects as well as navigate different environments.Strong analytic, quantitative, and problem-solving skills required.Strong verbal and written communication skills required.Strong presentation skills and ability to appropriately and effectively address diverse audiences required.Proficiency in MS Word and Excel required; Access database proficiency preferred.CONDITIONS OF WORK:Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm.Extended work hours, as needed.Maintain valid driver''s license, automobile insurance and reliable transportation.Field work up to approximately 75% of total work hours.
