Receives work orders and obtains the necessary
tools required for the repair.
Assists the Automobile Mechanic in repairing
automobiles, buses, trucks, and other automotive
vehicles
Raises vehicle to specified level, using hydraulic
jack.
Changes batteries, tires, oil, and other minor
repairs.
Removes and disassembles units, such as engines,
transmissions, or differentials, to be repaired,
using hand tools and power tools.
Cleans unit, using prescribed solvent.
Lubricates and washes vehicle.
May be designated according to specialty of worker
assisted as Truck-Mechanic Helper.
Transports the vehicles to be repaired by
driving, towing or pushing vehicle into service
bay. Vehicles may consist of tugs, fork-lifts, pay
loaders, and other larger airport vehicles.
Inspects parts and/or motor vehicles to identify
defective or broken parts.
Obtains replacement parts
Confers with Supervisor for complex repairs, which
require direction or approval for ordering of
parts.
Completes work orders and provides status on any
open work orders.
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
As an GSE Mechanic Assistant for Servisair, you
must show initiative, work well under pressure, be
able to adapt to any situation and be creative.
You must also have your own tools and be able to
handle various power and hand tools safely.
Additional requirements include
Minimum 3 years of related work experience
Valid drivers license and good driving background
Ability to pass a 10 year background check and
drug test
Computer skills
Knowledge of diesel automotives, hydraulics and
electrical systems is preferred, but not required
