MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Salary: $16.00 to 22.00/hour, negotiable
JOB SUMMARY:

Assist in keeping the mechanical equipment and structure of the plant in repair.
TASK and DUTIES
Performance of operations and the use of tools and equipment of several trades such as, but not limited to electrical, plumbing, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to insure efficient operations.
Responsible for planning and layout of work relating to repair of the building and all equipment.
Installing and aligning new equipment.
Responsible for welding any defective tanks, plant parts or machinery as needed.
Responsible for moving hazardous waste drums from still room to the hazardous waste storage area.
Knowledge of the proper disposal of waste oil and soiled rags.
License Requirements.
Accumulation of wastes.
Pretreatment System Operation  Maintenance.
Industrial Waste Neutralizing System.
Haz-Waste Accumulation Containers/Waste Minimization
Emergency Response.
Hazardous Communication / Right to Know
General Housekeeping
Non-Essential Functions Miscellaneous job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read and write to complete and log all maintenance requests and repairs
Must be able to demonstrate a proficiency in simple mechanical tasks
Must have basic mathematical skills
Must be able to operate a forklift and have a forklift license
Capable of lifting up fifty pounds regularly
Capable of unlimited bending, turning, stooping and twisting
Must have a class C boiler license if location has boiler
Must be able to delegate and supervise other mechanics
8+ years maintenance mechanic field
Must be flexible/on call/work overtime and weekends.
Must have own tools and meters
Preference Bilingual - English / Spanish
Environmental industry a plus

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
8 years High School/GED
