MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.Electrical Ability  The incumbent will have strong knowledge and ability to diagnose bad motors, blown fuses, bad disconnects timers, relays, etc.  The incumbent will have a strong knowledge of PLCs, controls circuits, etc.
2. Mechanical Ability  The incumbent will have an understanding of mechanical components such as, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems in general.
3.Technical Expertise/Consultation  With minimal supervision, the incumbent is capable of consulting a maintenance/technical manual and/or consult technical help over a phone to troubleshoot problems with equipment and resolve them.
4.The incumbent helps train other mechanics in the department.  The incumbent is capable of training mechanics in matters related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and electronics.  The incumbent is capable of training mechanics on the equipment in their area.
5.General facility  The incumbent will assist with equipment and facility improvement.  Example  If the general journeyman electrician requires assistance to perform work in the plant, the incumbent may assist the electrician to get the work done.
6.Preventive Maintenance  The incumbent is able to read, write and improve Preventive maintenance inspections.

1.Education and /or Experience  2 yr technical school and/or 5 years experience in closely related field work.
2.Language Skills  Strong English skills, both written and verbal.
3.Computer Skills  Fluent in Microsoft Windows and Office software.
4.Reasoning Ability  Ability to make independent decisions.  Ability to solve problems with little to no direction.  Must be able to examine the logical relationships between conclusions and their supporting assertions.  Must be able to draw conclusions from facts and evidence.
