<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the timely, reliable, safe and cost-
effective mechanical repairs to a large fleet of
airport ground handling equipment, aircraft
refuelers, buses, etc.
Evaluate equipment repair costs and make
recommendations on repair versus replacement.
Prioritize equipment repairs.
Monitor safety practices and procedures in the
shop.
Evaluate maintenance work practices and identify
methods to improve productivity.
Review work orders for completeness and accuracy.
Assist GSE Mechanics with technical assistance as
needed.
Coordinate with other departments to obtain
equipment needing repair or maintenance.
Coach/counsel/discipline employees who violate
Company policy.
Maintain and update equipment files.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises the GSE Mechanics.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION /or EXPERIENCE
Minimum two 2 years supervisory experience and
posses a thorough knowledge of ground support
equipment, heavy-duty gas and diesel engines,
hydraulics and electrical.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general
business periodicals, technical procedures or
government regulations, documents such as safety
rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals. Ability to write routine
business correspondence and procedures manuals.
Ability to speak clearly, present information and
effectively respond to questions from employees,
customers, the airport authority, and the general
public.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid commercial driver license
CDL with the appropriate endorsements to suit
the type of vehicle being operated. In those
locations not requiring a CDL, then must possess a
valid driver license.

functions of this job. This job is performed both
inside and outside and the incumbent must be able
to deal with all types of weather conditions.

moderate. Must be flexible to work all hours/days
