More information about this job:Overview:Position Summary: * Mechanic will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. Mechanic will be able to identify and resolve equipment problems. Work involves most of the following: Examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble. Dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs or PM&rsquo;s that mainly involve the use of hand tools. Replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock; re-assembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for operation. In general, the work of a Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic will be able to identify and resolve equipment problems. Other duties may be assigned and qualifications required may change.)* Refrigeration mechanic will improve, repair, rebuild and do preventive maintenance on all HVAC/R equipment, along with all plant auxiliary systems connected to HVAC/R systems.* Perform highly skilled tasks including but not limited to pipe fitting, welding, and trouble shooting system problems. Mechanic will tear down and inspection various compressors, Carrier, Copeland, York. Rebuild pumps, valves, and blowers. Troubleshoot electrical control circuits. Make repairs to systems such as, changing motors, replace bearings, belts, filter and charge refrigeration systems. * Mechanic will work closely with refrigeration department lead mechanic and supervisor, keeping them informed of maintenance activities, progress of jobs, issues and concerns.* Mechanics will be responsible for daily activities including PM&rsquo;s, Emergency Repair and Corrective Maintenance work.* Mechanics will work with manufacturing departments to coordinate work as needed. Mechanics must be responsive to critical manufacturing needs in a timely manner.* Mechanic will perform quality workmanship at all times, making sure jobs are being completed properly. Mechanic will be proactive looking beyond basic PM&rsquo;s, working to identify possible system problems.* Mechanics will work with lead mechanic and supervisor to make sure all PM&rsquo;s being performed are of the proper type and will make recommendations on PM changes as needed* Mechanic will work with lead mechanic for proper training on equipment.* Mechanic will work closely with all other facility departments.* Any facilities personnel working on a piece of manufacturing equipment that is holding up  production, will stay with the problem until it has been fixed or he has been relieved by another mechanic.Responsibilities:Skills/Experience, Qualifications, and Educational Requirements: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Vocational certification or skills is preferred. Trade license(s) a plus but not required. Mechanic must be EPA certified.* Must have a minimum of 3 years hands on experience repairing and troubleshooting refrigeration equipment in a Commercial / Industrial environment. Experience in a Pharmaceutical / Biotech environment is a plus.* Extensive knowledge in low and medium temperature Refrigeration & Air Conditioning applications.* Must have strong trouble shooting abilities to identify and resolve equipment problems. * Able to repair and rebuild machinery or mechanical equipment.* Working knowledge of building automation systems a plus.* Must be a self-starter w
