Job Summary
3M Purification Inc. is a leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of a comprehensive line of filtration products for the separation, clarification, and purification of fluids and gases. Its proprietary products are used in drinking water, healthcare, and industrial markets. We currently have an employment opportunity within 3M Purification Inc for a Scientific Applications Support Services SASS Specialist.
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
* Participates in the development, support, and training for 3M Purification filtration products and their applications for use in Fluid Processing Markets Life Science, General Industrial, Paint and Coatings, Chemicals/Petrochemicals and Electronics.
* Trains customers in use of 3M Purification products for the Fluid Processing Market.
* Establishes priorities with the Manager of SASS, and Sales and Marketing. Plans and designs experiments for evaluation of 3M Purification products at customer sites, or at Meriden, to address customer-specific filtration challenges.
* Monitors or performs on-site tests of 3M Purification and competitive products and makes recommendations for appropriate 3M Purification product to solve filtration problems.
* Research emerging and new applications for 3M Purification product line
* Prepares SASS reports describing work performed. Reviews test results with customers and sales/marketing personnel as needed.
* Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings which address product performance issues, customer feedback, product improvement/design, and regulatory requirements.
* Serves as SASS representative to product development team through entire process.
* Composes technical articles.
* Other duties as assigned.
Relocation Domestic relocation assistance is available per 3Ms standard relocation policies.Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status e.g., H1B status.Location and Travel The position of Scientific Applications Support Services SASS Specialist will be located in Los Angeles, CA and may include up to 50% travel.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university.
* Minimum of 3+ years combined technical experience in the areas of liquid filtration, bio-separation, and/or biotechnology.
Preferred Qualifications
* Masters degree or higher from an accredited university in Chemical Engineering, Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Chemistry.
* Minimum of 1+ years experience working with filtration and separation processes pertaining to bio-separations.
* Minimum of 1+ years experience within a cGMP and/or cGLP laboratory setting.
* Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
* Previous technical customer service experience.
