USC is seeking an experiencedSenior Complaint Investigatorto be a part of the Office of Equity and Diversity team serving the university''s faculty, staff and students on matters including, but not limited to, harassment, discrimination, protecting minors in the workplace, Title IX, and violence in the workplace. The Senior Complaint Investigator will be responsible for conducting investigations and performing independent analysis while interpreting and ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements and applicable internal policies and procedures as they apply to the University. Additionally, the Senior Complaint Investigator will serve as a University representative for external complaints and represent the University with agencies against charges of discrimination or harassment.Job Accountabilities:* Conducts investigations of equity and diversity matters for faculty, staff and/or students to meet University and regulatory requirements. Performs independent analyses and evaluation of findings. Creates comprehensive written reports.* Conducts investigations of threats of workplace violence. Performs independent analysis and evaluation of findings and conducts appropriate follow-up, as needed. Understands and follows proper protocols for workplace violence threat assessments as needed.* Documents all interviews and meetings held with faculty, staff and/or students, supervisors, managers and senior administrators. Maintains confidential case files. Prepares various detailed written reports and letters as necessary.* Serves as an expert on equity and diversity matters. Provides advice and guidance to faculty, staff, and/or students on discriminatory practices and equal opportunity matters. Communicates standards, guidelines, policies and procedures. Interprets and applies federal and state requirements and applicable internal policies and procedures as they apply to the University, faculty, staff and/or student''s employment or academic issues.* Provides direction and guidance to departmental staff as requested. Provides leadership, direction and training to other investigators as assigned.* Stays informed of developments in field. Reads pertinent literature, attends meetings and participates in professional associations as appropriate. Establishes and maintains an active network of professional contacts.* Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
