The Specialist demonstrates advanced knowledge in psychiatric nursing practice and assumes the roles of practitioner, educator, supervisor, consultant, and researcher. The Specialist demonstrates a high degree of professional competence in a specialized field of nursing and utilizes advanced theoretical and empiric and a scientific approach to problem solviing. The Specialist establishes standards for patient care and evaluates interventions to improve care. Emphasis on specific role components is dependent upon the patient population and the clinical and administrative functions/needs of the unit, Department of Nursing and UCLA Health System. Job Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current licensure as a Registered Nursing in the State of California. Masters Degree prepared in Nursing with NP specialty required, with 3-5 years of recent clinical experience in area of specialization, Adult Psych Unit. Must be certified by the California Board of Registered Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner. r National Certification as an NP in Psychiatric Nursing strongly preferred.Will hire a CNS in position 60730 or an NP in H64575 In an effort to promote and maintain a healthy environment for our patients, visitors, and employees, UCLA Health System is a smoke-free site.
