<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Job Title: Sr. Clinical Laboratory Technologist SpecialistUCLA Title: Technologist Spec,Clin Lab,SrJob No.: H61837Work Hours: M-F 0700-1600Work Location: A7-248 CHSJob Type: CareerDuration: IndefiniteMinimum Salary: $41.56 / $7231Maximum Salary: $54.33 / $9453Layoff Referral Deadline: 05/17/2012Bargaining Unit: HXJob Duties: The Sr. CLS Specialist for Regulatory Affairs:· Provides leadership and technical expertise to direct a quality and compliance program within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. · Maintains quality system essentials throughout multidisciplinary laboratory operations, ensuring conformity with all regulations, laws, guidelines and standards of the licensing, accrediting, government and credentialing agencies.· Ensures adherence to UCLA internal policies for safety, laboratory, and corporate compliance.· Reviews quality data, proficiency testing activities, validation plans; performs assessments/audits; develops new policies, processes and procedures and/or provides technical review for both the laboratory and UCLA Health System; investigates/analyzes nonconforming events to identify systematic problems; trends data and applies tools for risk management/process improvement; provides oversight for departmental document control and record retention practices, conducts training and serves as a technical resource department wide within the framework of a QA/Compliance unit. Job Qualifications: The Sr. CLS Specialist for Regulatory Affairs shall be a California-licensed clinical laboratory scientist preferably with a master’s degree and/or SBB certification. Three to five years previous experience in quality assurance, quality improvement, and compliance related activities. Management or Supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership in the field of Quality Management and Quality Systems. Certification from American Society of Quality as Certified Quality Auditor (ASQ/CQA) or Certified Quality Manager (ASQ/CQM) preferred. Working knowledge of regulatory and accrediting agency requirements for Blood Banks including CLIA, Department of Public Health, FDA, CAP and AABB. Working knowledge of principles of Performance Improvement. Knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques. Skill in observation and review of documentation. Knowledge and experience in audit and assessment processes. Experience in deviation management including the development and assessment of corrective action desired. Experience with project planning and implementation. Strong computer skills with solid experience with Microsoft Office software. Ability to compile, analyze and summarize data for further evaluation. Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing. Experience writing procedures and reports. Excellent communication skills and productive interpersonal skills are essential. Demonstrated good teaching and training skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently. Ability to act as a facilitator.
