Job Qualifications: The Sr. CLS Specialist for Regulatory Affairs shall be a California-licensed clinical laboratory scientist preferably with a master’s degree and/or SBB certification. Three to five years previous experience in quality assurance, quality improvement, and compliance related activities. Management or Supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership in the field of Quality Management and Quality Systems. Certification from American Society of Quality as Certified Quality Auditor (ASQ/CQA) or Certified Quality Manager (ASQ/CQM) preferred. Working knowledge of regulatory and accrediting agency requirements for Blood Banks including CLIA, Department of Public Health, FDA, CAP and AABB. Working knowledge of principles of Performance Improvement. Knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques. Skill in observation and review of documentation. Knowledge and experience in audit and assessment processes. Experience in deviation management including the development and assessment of corrective action desired. Experience with project planning and implementation. Strong computer skills with solid experience with Microsoft Office software. Ability to compile, analyze and summarize data for further evaluation. Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing. Experience writing procedures and reports. Excellent communication skills and productive interpersonal skills are essential. Demonstrated good teaching and training skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently. Ability to act as a facilitator.
